Everyone knows the game monopoly; it takes a while to set up, its take forever to play, and in the end everyone’s feeling is hurt. Its the classic American board game.
If you’re looking for the wikipedia of the game, here the link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monopoly_%28game%29
But Studio360 started a “monopoly redesign” the link: http://www.studio360.org/2011/apr/15/monopoly-redesign-do-not-pass-go/
we’ve all though about how we could make the game fairer, easier, more modern and less old school. Monopoly has been relabeled throughout the years, there have been Poke’Mon , futuristic , card game , and even Star Wars versions. But the overall basic layout of the game never really changed. Well here a chance to actually put your thoughts into action, for those who played monopoly in a sociology class and were forced to discuss about it for hour. Now is the time to take your seemingly pointless discussion and actually get some recognition for your ideas or concept.
If you don’t have any ideas or though here are some that might get your juices flowing:
- should everyone start out with same amount of money?
- should a “upper class” category start further ahead on the board?
- should everyone be allowed to buy property? If not what standard should be used? (equity?)
